ROCCA’S CLASSIC EQUANIMITY

By the Editor In Chief

Eschewing with—a classic zest— even a diminutive pushy word onto her orifice about the most perilous global topic—the Kashmir dispute, posing soaring risks to the peace all around—the illustrious n’ dazzling US whiz on the South Asian Affairs, Christina Rocca has cruised back home—perceptibly with execution of her ‘mission to Pakistan’—which foliages nothing except a plantlet for analysts to—interpret her visit in whatever fashion they like—and draw their own conclusions on novel floats of the universal diplomacy. Anticipation from the hottest trip by the glamorous US Assistant Secretary of State—by n’ large—was that with the on time fulfilment of pledge vis-à-vis the renaissance of a democratic rule by the President General Pervez Musharraf, the American emissary shall bring along a ‘breaking news’ for institution of a everlasting peace n’ harmony in South Asia—via the solution of the Kashmir issue, in line with the UN resolutions n’ reflecting the aspirations of the populace of alluring Himalayan State. One could—very expediently—predict that with the amputation of ache in the neck of ‘democratic aficionados’— explicitly in the West—at least [after the revival of peoples’ legislatures in Pakistan], the United States—in meticulous—shall come out with a heavy hand on the most antagonistic terrain of the contemporary era—India and shall coerce New Delhi warlords to bow before the collective will—just in the inquisitiveness of their own billion-plus inhabitants—by getting into a dialogue with Pakistan for solving longed issues—with Kashmir atop. Washington—being a singular super power of the epoch—can not feel any complexity whatsoever—if it has an inexorable will to do so. Paradoxically, Christina Rocca—during her visit to Islamabad—remained hideously vigilant by exercising the gambit of ‘economy in fragranced words’. She could only express ‘Washington’s desire to fortify and enlarge ties with Pakistan—a cliché n’ escapee rhetoric—of America’s ‘vow to remain engaged to prop up Pakistan-India dialogue’. When and what way? Is just a conjecture for a pragmatic mindset? Though Rocca’s avowal—in a style—represents an ostensibly devout, yet if analyzed—with factuality—there is scarcely any divergence from the old pointless oratory. Virtually, Pakistan continues to be beleaguered by US administration and its media—in all facets, may it be print, electronic or cyber— which does not leave a jiffy in carrying on its propaganda crusade on the basis of well calculated official leaks, tips n’ trickles—explicitly—about its nuclear assets. With this outlook, a callous drive about the insecurity—based on nothing except a fantasy—of Pakistan’s nuclear assets and proviso of nuke technology to North Korea are visibly a device—that is habitually applied by today’s world masters’—to coarse and blackmail a sovereign state— sanctified with a rousing status in the comity of nations. With such a frame of mind, some US congressmen, the ‘champ of human rights’ have—spitefully started yell about re-imposing sanctions on Pakistan. These critics have come out—with such accusations—even before an apt probe by an authenticated n’ certified scrutinizing body. Not only that the charge has been officially denied by Pakistan, even experts have drawn a fabulous comparison—based on realities—between the nuke technologies of the two countries—which are, with all perceptions exclusively dissimilar. With such disputations—in fact a tough set of people inside Congress will—in the long run—deteriorate the US reflection n’ credibility in the volatile regions, more specifically in Pakistan. An etched on every ones’ mind is still potted in the folio of record that soon after the USSR’s kicking out of Afghanistan, the US took a volt-face and imposed sanctions on its long-time friend—Pakistan under Pressler amendment only due to Washington’s established incessant leaning towards influential n’ ferocious Indian lobby, camouflaging it by manifold tracks. Of-course the Pressler amendment botched to achieve any sagacious impact, yet it traumatized goodwill that existed for US among the people of Pakistan and their fans. No doubt that Pakistan is being phrased as a close ally in the US-led coalition for war against terrorism, yet—at the same time— Washington’s act of keeping it [Pakistan] on the hook amply speaks of the US duplicity. Fantastically, US do pretend to endorse peace and dialogue between India n’ Pakistan but there is hardly any observable progress—in vision so far. It is simply ludicrous to believe that India—can ever dare—resist the US pressure if it [Washington} zealously wishes to ease tension in this part of the world—the explosive South Asia. It has—time n’ again—been proven beyond any shadow of doubt that the United States’ apex anxiety rests only in its own interests, rather than any thing else. Its’ thus an apposite time for the Bush administration to shun its ostentatious posture on the hazardous scenario in the South Asian region and should—in place—make bold n’ bona fide efforts to ensure peace n’ tranquillity — which could suit its own ambitions as well. Let there be no mix-up that the region will continue to pose as an arena of a calamitous skirmish unless Kashmir dispute—the root cause of the tension—is resolved—in line with over a dozen UN resolutions [adopted with one-voice from 1949 to 1957], calling for a free, fair and impartial plebiscite under the aegis of the world body enabling the people—in millions—of Jammu & Kashmir to exercise their birth right of self-determination, a vital n’ noteworthy ingredient of the UN Charter. To achieve this cherished goal only a meaningful process of instantaneous dialogue is a pre-requisite. The sole super power, Washington is—thus—ought to rise above its egotistical motives and should—instead—contribute towards the backing of global peace via the judicious settlement of all the problematic elements, posing perils to the world—with the solution of the Kashmir dispute on the top as this highly significant feature—by all norms of ethics is—overtly—its basic task rather than getting all-the-time engaged into the manoeuvres vis-à-vis diffusion of arsenals n’ deceptions. No one can refute that if a combat sets off in South Asia, it shall—in no way—remain limited to a specific area and—its disaster-prone bang shall travel even beyond oceanic— precisely due to its sky-scraping potency, ignited by the newest gadgets of brawls and mêlée. Simultaneously the United States must admit the ground reality that its war against terrorism is more and more being viewed by the Muslim world as war against Islam. At this moment, if it turns back on a moderate Islamic country—Pakistan which has always risked its interests and repute by warmly siding with the US—despite heavy odds—it [the US] will send flawed signals to the Muslim world—which may prove catastrophic for itself because logically American splendour rests—alone—with the employ of a solitary yardstick—based on pure equilibrium— which has to be as clear as crystal. Else miscellaneous episodes, based on the sagas that every thing, which surfaces has to evaporate—one day—one way or the other—listed straightforwardly by ingenuous historians—were, are and will continue to remain a blatant eye-opener for all times to come. The sadistic, atrocious, awful, ruthless and cold-blooded tyrannical rule, let loose by the Indian armed invaders on the guiltless Kashmiris is very close to a finale as the gallant n’ dauntless people of the Jammu n’ Kashmir state are now affixing the last nail in the enemy’s coffin by mounting their struggle towards—supreme dimensions—to smash the fetters of the brutal Indian intruders n’ aggressors—who can— now no more—face the heroic people, whose paradise-on-earth has been twisted into a ‘land of horror’ by over a million Indian armed sycophants n’ toadies. Alas! Christina Rocca—an illustrious name in the diplomatic hierarchy of the Bush administration—while in Islamabad—would have articulated a few words of care n’ compassion for the innocent people of Jammu & Kashmir who are being targeted—with violent terrorism—by the iniquitous, rogue and scoundrel set of Indian muggers for over half a century. After all she hails from an enlightened world—‘the guardian of human rights’—which, prima facie adores peace and laments affrays of all sorts with enormous love for mankind and loathing for each n’ every act of violence. With such a sagacious n’ erudite credence, why did she keep mum towards Kashmiris’ merciless dilemma is inexplicable, which might raise a lot of eye-brows in the follow-up times. One hopes—whenever— Ms Rocca embarks on her next flight to South Asia—expectantly in a short span of time—she will—not only carry a clear-cut mandate from President Bush and his crew—floating the administration—to pressurize India to enter into a consequential process of dialogue with Pakistan to avert all shadows of a potential war between the two nuke-neighbours but would—simultaneously—be depicting somewhat peculiar n’ out-and-out emotions—from the core of her heart with bravado—as is evident from her vivacious, charismatic, captivating, elating, alluring n’ majestic plus magnificent gaze—which shouldn’t hold back pathos towards ferociousness on humankind—irrespective of colour, cast, creed or credo with a dialect of exactitude.
